12 Students Discharged in Ajayi Crowther University Murder Case

Twelve of the 25 students of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, who were arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates' Court, Ibadan, have been discharged in the alleged murder case of a fellow student, Akro Jeffery, a prince in Warri kingdom.

12 Students Discharged in Ajayi Crowther University Murder Case

The students were initially charged with conspiracy, murder, and negligence on June 5. However, on July 1, the court discharged 12 of the students, adjourning the case until July 8 for further mention.

The prosecution had alleged that the defendants brutally beat the 22-year-old victim, Jefry Akro, to death with planks and electrical wire on May 24. The security guard, Oladoye, was accused of failing to prevent the tragic incident. The offences were said to contravene sections 516, 515, and 324 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
