This information was disclosed by the state's Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his social media handle on Tuesday.

The post stated, "46 individuals were arrested earlier today by the operatives of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) #LAGESCOfficial for failing to use the pedestrian bridge and crossing the highway in Oshodi Oke and Ile Epo. They have been taken to court for prosecution.

"A woman was also arrested for not using the pedestrian bridge, and she assaulted and tore the uniform of a KAI official at Ile Epo Bus Stop. She has been sentenced to four months in prison. Sixty-three persons were arrested on Friday for crossing the highway without using the pedestrian bridge and for engaging in street trading.

In February, shegzeblog reported that the Lagos State Government urged residents to use pedestrian bridges, stating that crossing major highways in the state by pedestrians is an offense. It further stated that any violator caught will be prosecuted.
