The Nigerian military has had a busy week, conducting operations against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the North-East and rescuing 49 kidnapped hostages.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, detailed the operations in a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday. The operations led to the surrender of some of the terrorists and the recovery of a number of weapons.
The military also neutralized 12 terrorists, arrested 26 and rescued six kidnapped hostages during the operations.
Overall, the operations are a significant success for the military and a blow to terrorist groups in the region.
