However, in a welcome turn of events, the strike has been supended for a week leading the aviation unions to also suspend their strike, allowing domestic airports to resume operations.

Murtala Mohammed Airport Terminal II, operated by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd, and the General Aviation Terminal I, managed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, have reopened their gates, restoring normalcy to air travel in the country.

The strike by the NLC and TUC was a response to the government's failure to address the long-standing issues affecting workers and the general populace. The unions demanded a review of the national minimum wage, a reversal of the electricity rate increase, and a reevaluation of the controversial band categories.

However, following intense negotiations and deliberations, the aviation unions have agreed to suspend their strike, paving the way for the reopening of airports. This decision is seen as a significant step towards resolving the ongoing industrial action and finding a lasting solution to the contentious issues.

The suspension of the strike is a relief to travelers and the general public, who have been affected by the airport closures. Normal flight operations are expected to resume, and passengers can now travel without disruptions.

While the strike by the NLC and TUC as been suspended, the decision by the aviation unions to suspend their industrial action is a positive development. It is hoped that this will pave the way for a comprehensive resolution of the outstanding issues and a return to normalcy in the country.
