The Katsina State Police have apprehended two suspects in relation to the abduction of Hauwa'u Adamu, the 75-year-old mother of popular singer Dauda Kahutu (Rarara).

According to Police spokesman ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the suspects are currently being interrogated. The kidnapping occurred at Adamu's residence in Kahutu village, Danja LGA, Katsina State, around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024. The police promptly responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

Rarara, a renowned singer, previously served as chairman of presidential singers during former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration and played a significant role in mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly among Hausa-speaking communities in Nigeria.
