Nigerian Hip Hop artist Ladipo Eso, known by his stage name Ladipoe, recently shared the challenges and triumphs of his music career.

In a candid interview, the Mavin Records star discussed how industry insiders initially doubted his potential due to his distinctive musical style.

Ladipoe revealed that anonymous figures within the music industry tried to discourage him from pursuing his hip-hop style, suggesting he relocate if he wanted to succeed in music.

"They told me to take my style of music elsewhere," Ladipoe recounted. Despite the skepticism, he remained in Nigeria, a decision that ultimately proved successful.

Reflecting on his journey, Ladipoe expressed pride in surpassing expectations with all his songs, though he admitted he remains unsatisfied with his achievements.

"In the beginning, I was told no one would listen to my songs in Nigeria because of my style, and that I should try elsewhere," he said. "It is human nature for satisfaction to be elusive, especially for creative people like artists. I am grateful but not satisfied."

Ladipoe also shared a humbling early career experience.

"Once, I came on stage with high energy and asked the crowd, 'Who is ready for some more hip-hop?' The overwhelming response was 'no.' My band then played the wrong song, which deflated me even more. It was a terrible moment, but now I look back and laugh. I am grateful for the growth," he added.
