A devastating attack occurred on July 14, 2024, in Tse-Iyo village, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, resulting in the tragic death of an Internally Displaced Person (IDP), Ikyumbu Aondowase, 30.
According to Ibaah Jacob, a former camp manager of Agagbe IDPs' camp, the gunmen ambushed Aondowase and other IDPs while they were returning from their farms, shooting him fatally and wounding others, including Achin Terzungwe, 45, who was rushed to Naka Hospital for treatment.
The attack happened on the road to Tse-Iorbogo, a route frequently used by the IDPs. Unfortunately, five people are still unaccounted for, leaving their families and the community in a state of anxiety and fear.
