Ogun State police operatives have arrested a 34-year-old suspected cultist, Adekunle Adebajo, alias Kunle Polly, for his alleged role in the brutal killing of a rival cult group member, known as Mosquito, in Ijebu Ode.

According to the command's spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, "On August 12, a concerned citizen reported a distressing incident to the Divisional Police Officer in Igbeba, where rival cult members clashed, resulting in the gruesome murder of Mosquito, who was shot, macheted, and had his left hand severed and taken away by his killers."

In response to the report, a team of detectives swiftly mobilized and took action, leading to the apprehension of Adekunle Adebajo, the primary suspect.

"We received a distress call about a violent clash between rival cult groups, and our team quickly responded, leading to the arrest of Adekunle Adebajo, who is suspected to be involved in the killing of Mosquito," SP Omolola Odutola stated.

The police spokesperson emphasized that the command is committed to tackling cultism and related violence in the state, ensuring that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Adekunle Adebajo's arrest marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb cult-related activities in Ogun State. 

As the investigation unfolds, the police are working tirelessly to apprehend other suspects involved in the heinous crime.
