The legendary singer, journalist, and cultural icon, Onyeka Onwenu, has been laid to rest in a touching ceremony in Lagos.

The "Elegant Stallion" passed away on July 30, 2024, at 72, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a fall.

Onwenu's funeral service was held at The Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos, followed by a private burial at a mausoleum in Ikoyi. The somber event drew a significant turnout, with notable figures like Peter Obi and Alex Otti in attendance.

"She was more than just a musician; she was a respected broadcaster, actor, politician, and activist," said a mourner. "Her death has left a void in our hearts."

Videos from the burial ceremony have sparked an outpouring of emotions and tributes from fans and admirers nationwide.

Onwenu is survived by her two sons. Her legacy will continue to inspire and influence generations to come.
