The Nigeria Police Force is taking a giant leap into the digital age with the launch of its E-Policing initiative, featuring the digital Central Motor Registry Information System (e-CMR).

This innovative system promises to make road safety checks more efficient and hassle-free for motorists.

According to Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, "no more stopping to check papers - our officers are equipped with cutting-edge tech to verify documents in real-time".

This development is part of the vision of Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to revolutionize policing in Nigeria.

Key Benefits of the e-CMR System:

- *Real-Time Verification*: Officers can verify documents instantly, reducing the need for physical checks and minimizing delays.

- *Digital Record-Keeping*: Vehicle information will be stored digitally, making it easier to access and manage.

- *Enhanced Security*: The system will help reduce the risk of fake or tampered documents.

The e-CMR system is a significant step towards modernizing the Nigeria Police Force, aligning with global best practices in law enforcement. 

The Force's structure is divided into seven departments, including the 'G' Department, which focuses on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

This department is responsible for developing and implementing ICT policies, empowering personnel with ICT skills, and providing technological solutions for efficient policing.

Objectives of the 'G' Department (ICT):

- Develop an ICT Policy for the Nigeria Police Force

- Empower personnel with ICT skills

- Provide technological solutions for efficient policing

- Introduce ICT innovative solutions centered on strategic policing

With the e-CMR system, the Nigeria Police Force aims to improve road safety, reduce corruption, and enhance the overall efficiency of its operations.
