“I am deeply aware of the struggles you are facing, and we are implementing measures to help reduce the cost of living” - President Tinubu assures Nigerians.

President Bola Tinubu recently addressed the nation during Nigeria's 64th Independence Day celebrations, emphasizing that his administration is taking significant steps to alleviate the rising cost of living in the country.

“I am deeply aware of the struggles you are facing, and we are implementing measures to help reduce the cost of living” - President Tinubu assures Nigerians.

Acknowledging the hardships Nigerians are facing, especially in terms of food prices, Tinubu assured citizens that the government is committed to implementing measures to curb inflation and stabilize essential costs.

One of the key areas the president highlighted is agriculture.

He commended several states, such as Kebbi, Niger, and Jigawa, for embracing mechanized farming and encouraged others to follow suit.

The Federal Government is playing its part by providing fertilizers and modern farm equipment.

In addition, plans are underway to establish a local assembly plant for 2,000 John Deere tractors and other farming equipment, with a completion target of six months.

This initiative is aimed at boosting food production and reducing food prices in the long run.

In terms of energy, Tinubu reiterated the government's focus on expanding the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a more affordable option for public transportation.

The Federal Government is working alongside private sector players to facilitate the adoption of CNG buses, which is expected to make transportation more affordable for Nigerians.

The president also reaffirmed his commitment to economic reforms aimed at fostering stability, job creation, and investment.

He called on Nigerians to remain resilient and hopeful, promising that these measures would gradually ease the economic burden many citizens are currently experiencing.

Tinubu's assurances come as part of broader efforts to address pressing challenges, including unemployment and social justice, particularly through youth-centered initiatives like the upcoming National Youth Conference.
