The incident occurred in the Limpopo province after the women reportedly trespassed onto Olivier's farm to collect discarded food products, a common practice for some local residents when expired goods were dumped by a dairy company.

The tragedy has sparked outrage due to the brutal nature of the killings.

After being shot, a lot of South Africans have been asking, what are the reasons for the women's protest?, following the women’s bodies which were found decomposing in a pigsty, and authorities suspect that the remains had been partially eaten by the pigs.

A man accompanying the victims managed to survive the attack and alerted authorities, which led to the discovery of the bodies.

The three suspects face charges of premeditated murder and illegal possession of firearms, while Musora, a Zimbabwean national, also faces immigration-related charges.

The case has drawn significant attention, with protests taking place outside the court during the suspects' appearances, demanding justice.

The South African Human Rights Commission has also weighed in, urging the public to remain calm and avoid acts of retaliation, as the investigation continues.

This case highlights long-standing tensions over land and race in South Africa, where violence on farms is a persistent issue, including both attacks on farmers and abuses by farm owners against workers and trespassers
