Aisha Yesufu, a well-known Nigerian activist and co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement, recently expressed her strong opposition to the legitimacy of President Bola Tinubu's administration.

During an interview on the Mic On podcast, hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, Yesufu made it clear that she does not recognize Tinubu as her president. 

Her objections stem from the belief that Tinubu's victory in the February 2023 presidential election was fraudulent and manipulated to secure the presidency, which she called a "civilian coup."

Yesufu, a staunch supporter of Labour Party candidate Peter Obi, voiced her dissatisfaction not only with the election results but also with the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC). 

She accused the court of being biased and failing to deliver justice, particularly highlighting irregularities such as the refusal to air the court proceedings live, which she found suspicious. 

She further criticized the judges, claiming their demeanor during the judgment indicated bias in favor of Tinubu and his party, the All Progressives Congress.

Many opposition leaders, including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, have challenged the PEPC ruling and vowed to appeal to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn the election result.
