The 7 times ballon d’or winner Lionel Messi has made it possible for the underestimated Inter Miami, as his two assists in the first 90mins secures a position for the Herons in the US Open final.

Inter Miami who where 2 goals behind the unstoppable FC Cincinnati, before the Argentine wizard Lionel Messi gave the first assist from the free kick spot in the 68th minutes of the game before sending another one in 97th minute additional time.

It was a heart blowing challenge for the Herons as the Argentine midfielder Luciano Acosta gave FC Cincinnati the lead in the 18th minutes of the game before the US born Brandon Vazquez doubles the lead in the 53rd minute of the game, eliminating Inter Miami’s hope.

Messi who seems not to be fully in the game setup his magic again, as he drops a reviving assist to the Herons striker Leonardo Campana in the 68th minute of the game before a last minute lobbing pass from the great Lionel Messi to Leonardo Campana to level the game as the both sides moves the game to extra time.

Not up to 5mins into the first half of the extra time before Josef Martinez gave the Herons their first lead against FC Cincinnati, ask the Japanese forward Yuya Kubo levels the game in the 114th minute to send both sides to a penalty shootout. 

Inter Miami showed FC Cincinnati a better penalty skill as the game ended 4-5 in penalty shootout to give Inter Miami their deserved lead to the US Open final. 

Inter Miami will be meeting the winner between Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake in the US Open final as the Herons hope to secure their second trophy since the establishment of the club in 2018.
