The staff of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu have debunked reports of a protest against the hospital's management, headed by Medical Director Prof. Monday Igwe. Instead, they condemned the attempted abduction of the MD by the police.

The unions of the hospital, including JOHESU, NANNM, ARD, and MDCAN, called on the Inspector General of Police and the Federal Ministry of Health to investigate the matter.

They further demanded justice for the incident and for those who allegedly procured the police to abduct the MD to be brought to justice.

Staff at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital have spoken out against the destabilizing effects of one individual's personal ambitions. They lamented that the actions of one person have caused confusion in the institution and threatened its stability.

They also disputed the claims of a coalition of civil society organizations who staged a protest against the hospital's management.

This group, led by Comrade Onyebuchi Igboke, claimed to be unhappy with the closure of the hospital's School of Post Basic Nursing.

However, the staff maintain that the claims of the group are not representative of the views of the entire staff.
