According to a statement from the Police Command in Benue, a young man named Terhemba Tyochivir took his own life on Thursday in Makurdi, the state capital.

The incident was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Sewuese Anene, who revealed that Tyochivir was a student of Government Secondary School, Gboko.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, but it has been reported to the E Division Police Station in Makurdi.

The deceased was reportedly taken to Bishop Murray Hospital in Makurdi, where doctors pronounced him dead.
