The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has announced that it will take punitive action against fuel station operators who are found to be using altered petroleum pumps.

Speaking at an interactive session with the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in Abuja on Friday, NMDPRA Chief Executive, Mr Farouk Ahmed, said that such operators risk having their operating licenses revoked, being suspended from operating, or even being shut down, depending on the severity of the violation.

Ahmed stated that the altering of fuel pumps by filling station operators is a serious issue for the government and oil regulatory bodies.
