A tragic report from Benue State has revealed that a Catholic priest named Rev. Fr. Faustinus Ukenongo Gundu was killed by a lightning strike. According to eyewitness accounts, Gundu, an albino, was struck by lightning on Thursday and died on the spot.
The incident occurred at his church in Jootar Mbaterem in Mbayenge Ward of Ukum Local Government Area.
Gundu was said to have been the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church Jootar until his sudden passing. The shocking news of his death has left the community reeling.

Emberga T. Joseph, an eyewitness, posted on Facebook that "Black Thursday" saw a thunder lightning kill the priest.
Another eyewitness, Aga Linus, said that the priest "slumped to death" after the thunder struck. Olikita Ekani, a former media aide to Samuel Ortom, also posted about the incident, expressing his condolences and describing the news as tragic.
