In a shocking and tragic incident, Dr. (Mrs.) Adefolalu Funmilola Sherifat, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology Minna, was found dead in her home in Gbaiko, Minna, with her throat slit. Her body was discovered by members of her church, who went to her home after she did not show up for service.

According to some residents, the police later moved the body to the mortuary after finding it in a pool of blood with knives nearby.
