Spain's national team striker, Alvaro Morata, has revealed that he and his wife, Alice Campello, are parting ways after a period of reflection.

The couple, who have four children together, made the difficult decision to separate due to "continuous misunderstandings" that have worn them down.

"After some time of reflection, Alice and I have made the decision to separate our paths," Morata wrote on Instagram. "A wonderful relationship of mutual respect where we have loved and helped each other a lot."

Morata praised their relationship, calling it "wonderful years" that have resulted in their four children, who are "without a doubt the best thing we have ever done." He also asked for respect and empathy, requesting that people not create stories for attention.

"Alice will always have a special place in my heart, and everything we have experienced together has been incredible and a great learning experience," Morata added.

Alice Campello, an Italian model and fashion designer, has been Morata's wife for several years. The couple's divorce comes as a surprise to fans, especially after their recent public displays of affection.
