Amnesty International Calls for Release of #EndSARS Protesters

Shegzeblog had reported that Justice Nicole Clay of the Lagos State High Court discharged and acquitted three persons detained for their alleged involvement in the October 2020 #EndSARS protest.

The Take-It-Back Movement, a civic group, expressed regret that about 10 more #ENDSARS protesters were still languishing in prison. Amnesty International highlighted that Joy-Igbo, Adigun, Anas, Oyetakin, and many others are still being arbitrarily held in Kirikiri Medium Correctional Centre and other detention facilities, including Awkuzu Police Division in Anambra State. They also noted the case of Iloanya Chijioke, who has been held in Awkuzu Police Division since November 2012 after being arrested by police officers from the Division.
