The Security outfit's Commander, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this while parading the suspects in Akure on Tuesday, April 10, 2024. He stated that the arrests were made across the 18 council areas of the state.

Chief Adeleye mentioned, “Among the 45 suspects, we have 14 kidnappers, one dangerous driver, 5 burglary cases, two cases of anti-grazing, four cases of public peace disruption, and cases of stealing and buying stolen goods."

He also stated that, "In the spirit of the festive period, Governor Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has directed that 28 of them, who have been profiled as first-time offenders with non-capital offenses, be released to their next of kin for rehabilitation, with strict warnings not to engage in such acts again."

"For the remaining suspects, they will face the full force of the law for their crimes, as we have identified and profiled them," he added.

"We had a particular case where we were able to dismantle a kidnapping syndicate in Akoko local government. During the operation, one of the kidnappers, who had confessed, was attacked with a machete by his accomplice in an attempt to cover up the crime. Our officers promptly rushed the injured kidnapper to the hospital, where he received treatment and provided useful information."

Adeleye reassured the people of the state that criminals would find no refuge in Ondo State, emphasizing that the security forces were relentless in their efforts to apprehend wrongdoers.
