A tragic incident occurred in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, when gunmen suspected to be armed robbers shot and killed a woman along NTA Road around 7 am.

The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was attacked by the gunmen on a motorcycle while standing by the road. She resisted their attempt to snatch her bag, leading to her fatal shooting. The assailants fled the scene, causing panic among residents and prompting business owners to hastily close their shops.

The police have confirmed the incident, recovered N40,280 from the victim's bag, and launched a manhunt for the perpetrators. The victim's body has been deposited in the morgue.
