Keswick, a prominent merchant banker, initially joined Arsenal's board as a director in 2005 before assuming the role of chairman in 2013. He served as chairman until his retirement in May 2020, though he remained involved with the club.

In a statement, the club expressed sadness over his passing, describing him as a lifelong Arsenal supporter who first attended matches at Highbury in 1949.

Keswick had a successful career in banking, eventually becoming Chairman of Hambros Bank and a Director of the Bank of England. His friendship with former Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood, who recognized Keswick's business acumen and passion for the club, led to his appointment to the Arsenal board.

During Keswick's tenure as chairman, Arsenal achieved success on the field, winning four FA Cups and finishing as runners-up in the Premier League, Europa League, and Carabao Cup.
