Former Vice President of Nigeria and presidential candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 25th, 2023 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the Supreme Court's decision to affirm the election of Bola Tinubu as the duly elected president.

Atiku took issue with the court's ruling, stating that it condoned forgery, perjury, identity theft, and illegality.

Atiku made these remarks at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, further indicating his strong opposition to the court's ruling.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the Supreme Court's ruling affirming Bola Tinubu's election victory, claiming that the court failed Nigerians by validating a candidate who was not qualified to run for president. Atiku and Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, had contested Tinubu's victory all the way to the Supreme Court.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) had previously rejected their challenges, and last week the Supreme Court dismissed their appeals and affirmed Tinubu's election victory. The PDP and the two candidates have expressed their disappointment with the court's decision.
