Bala Mohammed's Victory in Bauchi Governorship Election Upheld by Tribunal:

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed was re-elected in the March 18 governorship election, and the ruling was confirmed on Wednesday to the cheers of PDP supporters in the state.

Bala Mohammed's Victory in Bauchi Governorship Election Upheld by Tribunal:

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Mohammed the winner on March 20, after he garnered more votes than his closest rival, Sadique Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

NAN reports that the jubilation was sparked by the final announcement of the results, which saw Mohammed winning with 525,280 votes compared to Abubakar's 432,272.

Despite INEC's announcement of Mohammed as the winner of the Bauchi governorship election, the APC candidate and his party filed a petition to challenge the results.

However, a three-judge panel of the Tribunal led by Justice P.T. Kwahar ruled in favor of the governor, finding that the election had been conducted in accordance with the electoral act. As a result, the petition was dismissed.

Upon learning of the court's affirmation of Mohammed's victory, his supporters flocked to the government house to celebrate with him.
