On Saturday, October 21, 2023, bandits attacked two commercial drivers on the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway, killing two of them and a local hunter, Bashir Unguwar Shekarau.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. when the two commercial drivers, Mustapha Adamu and Malam Muktar, also known as "Teacher," were returning to Birnin Gwari.

One of the drivers was reportedly shot in the eyes and was receiving treatment at a local hospital in Birnin Gwari.It has been reported that the local hunter, Bashir Unguwar Shekarau, was fatally shot on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, while patrolling the highway.

The incident occurred a few days before a separate attack on two commercial drivers, Mustapha Adamu and Malam Muktar, known as "Teacher," which occurred on Saturday, October 21.

According to the sources, Auwal Stable, the driver who lost his eye, and three other injured individuals were receiving treatment at the hospital.
