"We will inform the Federal Government about the washed-away portion of the Azare to Bulkachuwa dual carriageway, and if they fail to respond promptly, we will address it ourselves," Governor Mohammed said during a visit to the affected area on Thursday, August 8.

The flood, which occurred between Malori and Guskuri Villages in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has rendered the expressway impassable, posing a significant risk to motorists and commuters.

"The urgent intervention by the Federal Government is necessary to prevent accidents on the highway and mitigate other hardships," Governor Mohammed emphasized. "We cannot afford to wait, as the situation demands immediate attention."

The governor's visit to the affected area underscores the severity of the situation and the need for swift action to restore the expressway and prevent further disruptions.

"We will not fold our arms and watch our people suffer," Governor Mohammed assured. "If the Federal Government fails to respond, we will take matters into our own hands to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens."

As the situation continues to unfold, Governor Mohammed's call for federal intervention serves as a reminder of the importance of collaboration and swift action in the face of natural disasters.
