Bobrisky receives a 6-month jail sentence without the option of a fine

He was arrested by the EFCC and sentenced for the abuse of the Naira.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, to six months in jail without the option of a fine. The judgement was delivered on Friday morning, April 12.

Bobrisky was arraigned by the EFCC on April 5th on a six-count charge, including Abuse of the Naira and Money laundering. The court dismissed the money laundering charges but convicted him for Naira Abuse based on his confession. He was remanded in EFCC detention in Lagos.

The judgement was originally scheduled for April 9 but was postponed due to the Eid-Fitri public holiday from April 9 to April 11.
