According to a prison source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, "Bobrisky will be released on Monday, August 5."

Bobrisky's lawyer, Ayo Olumofin, confirmed the release date, stating, "Yes, it's about that time for him to be released. There's nothing specific planned for his release. I might not attend, as I have engagements outside Lagos. Other lawyers may represent him." Olumofin clarified that he was not Bobrisky's original lawyer but had appeared in court on his behalf.

Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison without the option of a fine on April 12, 2024, for allegedly abusing the naira by spraying it at parties. The sentence was handed down by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, who has since been elevated to the Court of Appeal.
