Verydarkman, a concerned citizen, has publicly condemned the Borno state government for its handling of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

Borno State Government Under Fire: Verydarkman Slams Officials Over IDP Neglect

In a scathing statement, he expressed his outrage, saying, "Borno state government, it will never be well with you people for allowing the citizens of Borno to suffer."

He also urged international bodies to halt donations to Nigeria, alleging that government officials in Borno state and Nigeria are "extremely wicked and greedy”, that they are not giving the money to the affected victims.

According to Verydarkman, he personally donated N4 million, while others, including Seun Kuti, who contributed N1 million, joined efforts to support the IDPs and the people of Borno State who were affected by the flood.

However, upon arriving in Borno to assist in fixing three boreholes, he discovered that the government had asked IDPs to vacate the camps, offering them a meager N10,000 and a packet of spaghetti. This paltry assistance left the displaced individuals disheartened.

Borno State has faced significant challenges due to the Boko Haram insurgency, resulting in widespread displacement and humanitarian crises.

As of 2022, the state was still grappling with the aftermath, with over two million displaced persons seeking refuge in camps.

The situation has raised concerns about the government's ability to provide adequate support and protection to its citizens.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has emphasized his commitment to rebuilding and developing the state, focusing on education, infrastructure, and economic growth.

However, Verydarkman's allegations highlight the perceived gap between the government's promises and the reality on the ground.

The controversy surrounding the IDP camps and government assistance has sparked heated debates.

As the situation unfolds, it remains crucial to prioritize transparency, accountability, and effective governance to ensure that the needs of Borno state's citizens are met.
