BUA Cement's Price Reduction Initiative Undermined by Dealers' Greed, Says Chairman AbdulSamad Rabiu

Despite selling over a million tons of cement to dealers at a subsidized price of N3,500 per bag, dealers have been selling the same bags to consumers for exorbitant prices ranging from N7,000 to N8,000.

"We sold over a million tons of cement to dealers at a price of N3,500 per bag, with the intention of reducing the price for the consumers," Rabiu explained. "However, the dealers were selling each bag of cement to consumers for prices ranging from N7,000 to N8,000, which is unacceptable."

Rabiu's statement highlights the challenges faced by BUA Cement in its efforts to make cement more affordable for Nigerians. The company's initiative aimed to reduce the price of cement, but the greed of dealers has undermined this effort.

"It's disheartening to see that our efforts to support the government's agenda of making housing more affordable are being thwarted by dealers who are more interested in making profits than supporting the masses," Rabiu added.

BUA Cement's price reduction initiative was part of its commitment to supporting the government's efforts to make housing more affordable for Nigerians. However, the company's efforts have been hindered by dealers who are taking advantage of the situation to make excessive profits.
