Chelsea's Transfer Stance Casts Doubt on Osimhen's Move: 'No Deals Above £70,000 per Week'

Chelsea's transfer policy has thrown a wrench into their pursuit of top talent, including Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

Chelsea's Transfer Stance Casts Doubt on Osimhen's Move: 'No Deals Above £70,000 per Week'

According to Sky Sports transfer chief, Kaveh Solhekol, the club is unwilling to offer deals exceeding £70,000 per week to new players.

"Chelsea are not interested in signing players who demand £200,000-a-week or £300,000-a-week contracts," Solhekol revealed. This stance puts Osimhen's potential move to Chelsea in jeopardy, as the Nigerian striker's wage demands may surpass the club's threshold.

With Enzo Maresca seeking to bolster his attacking options, Chelsea have been linked to Osimhen and Brentford's Ivan Toney. However, the club's rigid transfer policy may force them to explore alternative targets.

"Chelsea are looking for value in the market, and they're not willing to break the bank for anyone," Solhekol added. This approach may appeal to fans, but it also raises questions about the club's ambition and ability to attract top talent.

As the transfer window heats up, Chelsea's stance will be closely watched. Will they stick to their guns, or will they make an exception for the right player?
