Police in Delta State have initiated a manhunt for Stanley Overmureye, accused of the gruesome murder of his six-year-old daughter, Abigail Stanley.

The tragic incident occurred on June 15 and was reported by the suspect's brother. Upon receiving the complaint, the DPO dispatched officers to the scene at Uviama New Layout, Agbarho Ughelli North LGA, where they discovered the child's corpse with severe head injuries. The body was subsequently taken to the mortuary.

SP Bright Edafe, the command's spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that the father, the primary suspect, is currently at large.

Edafe also conveyed that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, is deeply saddened by this barbaric act. He has ordered an intensive manhunt for the suspect and assured the public that justice will be served. The Commissioner urged anyone with information leading to the suspect's arrest to call the control room at 0803684974 or report to the nearest police station.
