In a shocking revelation, Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, has lifted the lid on Nigeria's petroleum importation conundrum.

Exposing the Truth: How Importers are Fueling Nigeria's Petroleum Woes - Devakumar Edwin Speaks Out

"We're importing most of our crude oil from as far as the US and Brazil, and we're exporting almost all of our production, including our diesel and jet fuel. The importers are practically refusing to buy from us," Edwin disclosed.

This stunning admission highlights the greed-driven tactics of importers, who are deliberately keeping petroleum products scarce and expensive in Nigeria.

Despite the Dangote refinery's capacity to produce and supply, importers are opting to import from distant lands, inflating costs and perpetuating the nation's energy crisis.

Edwin's statement exposes the glaring flaw in Nigeria's petroleum policy, where leaders prioritize personal gains over national interests.

The refusal to address this issue has resulted in a vicious cycle of importation, exportation, and artificial scarcity, leaving citizens to bear the brunt of expensive fuel prices.

"It's a classic case of greed over need," said Edwin. "The importers are more interested in lining their pockets than in serving the nation's energy needs."

As Nigeria grapples with its energy challenges, Edwin's revelation serves as a wake-up call for leaders to reassess their priorities and take decisive action.

By supporting local production and addressing the greed-driven importation cartel, Nigeria can break free from the shackles of petroleum dependency and forge a path towards energy self-sufficiency.
