In a bid to avert a looming nationwide strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), the Federal Government has invited the leadership of both unions to an emergency meeting.

The meeting, which will be held in Abuja, is aimed at resolving the issues that led to the planned strike.
The issues in contention include the fuel subsidy removal, electricity tariff hike and poor working conditions for Nigerian workers.
The NLC and TUC have threatened to go on strike if the government fails to address their demands.
