Nigerian-born defender Michael Kayode, currently a player for Serie A club Fiorentina, is close to signing a new contract with the club.

The 19-year-old has recently been given more first team opportunities following an injury to regular starter Dodo. He has impressed with his performances, providing an assist in one of his seven appearances for the club so far this season.

Kayode's current contract is believed to be worth €30,000 per season, but it is reported that he will soon receive a significant raise to around €1 million per year.
