A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, has formally announced his intention to contest the 2024 Edo State governorship election.

Akpata made the announcement in a statement shared on his Twitter account, in which he outlined his vision and policies for the state.

He promised to transform the state through infrastructural development, human capital development, and a focus on technology and innovation.

He also promised to uphold the rule of law and ensure transparency and accountability in government.
