President Emmanuel Macron called for a meeting of the defense council to address the attack and its aftermath, as per French media reports on Sunday. Additionally, France has reportedly received threats of further terrorist attacks.

The attack took place on Friday evening at the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Krasnogorsk, outside Moscow, resulting in a shooting followed by a large fire. According to a Sputnik correspondent, at least three individuals in camouflage attire stormed the music hall, shooting people at close range and hurling incendiary bombs.

Russian authorities have stated that the death toll from the attack is at least 137, though Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of RT and the Rossiya Segodnya media group, claimed the death toll has risen to 143.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained eleven individuals in connection with the attack, four of whom were directly involved. The FSB mentioned that all four suspected shooters were apprehended in the Bryansk region, which shares borders with Belarus and Ukraine.

The suspects, all from Tajikistan, have been charged with terrorism and will remain in pretrial custody until May 22, as ruled by Moscow’s Basmanny District Court. They face a potential life sentence in prison.
