Following looting incidents in the state, Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has lifted the curfew in 17 out of 21 Local Government Areas, while the curfew remains in force in four Local Government Areas.

The lifting of the curfew is the result of a review of the security situation in the state.

In addition, the Governor announced new security measures to curb crime, such as increasing security patrols and enforcing a ban on motorcycle use at night.

The statement read;

”Security operatives will, therefore, remain in the affected councils to enforce the new directive with a view to further maintain law and order.

“The curfew was never declared to inflict hardship on our people in the first instance but to protect them and return normalcy to the affected areas.”
