Governor Siminalayi Fubara has confirmed the reinstatement of His Royal Highness, Muhammad Sanusi II, as the 14th Emir of Kano.
In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara remarked that the Kano State Government's decision to reinstate Sanusi indicated that his dethronement on March 9, 2020, was contrary to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kano.
Fubara noted that this reinstatement coincides with Khalifa Sanusi II's visit to Rivers State to support the administration’s efforts to reshape the state’s economic trajectory.
The governor urged the people to fully support the Sarki of Kano and appealed to Emir Muhammad Sanusi II, the spiritual leader of the Tijanniyah Sufi order in Nigeria, to guide the over 50 million adherents with love, wisdom, and courage. He emphasized the importance of bringing lasting peace, justice, equity, and fairness to Kano.
Governor Fubara also wished the 14th Emir of Kano a successful and prosperous reign that would benefit the people of the state.
