Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu presented a N10 million award to the best graduating student at Lagos State University's (LASU) 27th convocation ceremony on Thursday.

The announcement was made by Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sanwo-Olu on New Media, in a post on X, noting the governor's arrival at the university at 12:38 pm.

Gawat's post stated: "UPDATE: Governor of Lagos State and visitor, Mr. @jidesanwoolu, arrived at the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo Campus, for the Grand Finale of the 27th convocation ceremony. This event includes the award of Diplomas, First Degrees & Prizes, Postgraduate Diplomas, Higher Degrees, and Conferment of Rank Distinguished Professor, Rank of Emeritus Professor, and Honorary Doctorate Degrees."

The governor also unveiled plans to construct an 8,200-bed hostel at the university. Over 11,000 students graduated from the institution.
