Nigerian film actress Habibat Jinad has shared how her senior colleague, Mide Martins, influenced her decision to begin bleaching her skin.

Speaking on Biola Bayo's talk show "Talk To B," she recounted an incident on the set of Afeez Owo's movie, where Mide criticized her skin color, likening her face to that of a monkey.

This criticism, in front of others, deeply upset Jinad to the point where she contemplated bleaching her complexion, eventually deciding to do so in 2012.
