Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, a prominent Shia Muslim cleric from Nigeria, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Tehran on Saturday.
In his acceptance speech, Sheikh Zakzaky shared insights into his decades-long advocacy, emphasizing his desire to maintain a low profile. He also discussed the impact of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, led by the late Imam Khomeini, on his decision to educate Nigerian students.
He described the Revolution as transformative and inspiring for people of all backgrounds, including communists.
