Ivan Toney's Mega Move: £400,000 Per Week After Tax in Al-Ahli Deal

In a stunning transfer deadline day move, Ivan Toney has secured a lucrative four-year deal with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, worth up to £1 million per week including bonuses.

The 28-year-old striker's basic pay will be around £400,000 per week after tax, with performance-related bonuses potentially pushing his earnings to £500,000 weekly.

To match this take-home pay in the UK, Toney would need to earn close to £1 million per week before taxes.

This marks a dramatic pay rise for Toney, who previously earned under £50,000 a week at Brentford.

"I'm thrilled to join Al-Ahli and start this new chapter in my career," Toney said.

"The opportunity to play in the Saudi Pro League and compete against top players like Cristiano Ronaldo is a dream come true."

Toney's move to Al-Ahli was nearly derailed as the Saudi club negotiated with Napoli for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

However, a last-minute agreement with Brentford ensured Toney's transfer went through.

With his contract at Brentford set to expire at the end of the season, Toney risked being stuck at the club if the deal had fallen through.

His new adventure in Saudi Arabia will see him join the likes of Roberto Firmino and Édouard Mendy at Al-Ahli.

Toney's debut in the Saudi Pro League is expected after the international break, where his first opponent will be Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr.

The highly-anticipated match will pit two of the league's highest-paid players against each other.
