The British-born singer, and actress,Jane Birkin has died, a close source said on Sunday at the age of 76.

Birkin had different health problems in recent years that had made her to cancel concerts.

The cause of death is not known.

Birkin entered the spotlight through her tumultuous relationship with legendary singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg and her heavily accented French, which became one of her signatures in her adopted home.
