The Nigerian forward's exit was confirmed in a statement on the club's website on Friday, following the expiration of his contract.

The club revealed that discussions are ongoing with Wilfred Ndidi to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.

Iheanacho joined Leicester from Manchester City in 2017 on a five-year deal and signed an improved three-year contract in 2021. During his time with Leicester, he scored 61 goals, including the winning goal against his former club in the FA Community Shield final at Wembley in August 2021.

His most productive season came in 2020/21 when he netted 19 goals in 39 matches and won the English Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month award. He also played a crucial role in Leicester City’s FA Cup triumph in 2021, scoring the decisive goal in the semi-final against Southampton.

Iheanacho was released alongside Marc Albrighton and Dennis Praet.
