The court order comes after Petty was caught on video making threatening remarks to an individual who has a criminal record, and in the presence of another person with a criminal record.

This has led the judge to order Petty to be confined to his home for a maximum of 4 months, and he may also be fitted with an electronic GPS ankle bracelet.

The judge hopes this will keep a close eye on Petty's activities and ensure he is not engaging in further threatening behavior.

The videos that led to Kenneth Petty's sentence of home detention were posted to social media on September 16, 2022, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The profanity-filled clips, which have been widely shared on social media, show Petty and two other men on a New York City sidewalk.

In the videos, the men repeatedly reference Offset and make threatening comments, such as "You plan that vacation, you'll be planning your funeral."

Petty has a history of criminal activity, having been convicted of attempted rape and attempted murder in the past, and serving two stints in prison.
