In the Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, it is reported that gunmen have abducted an assistant superintendent of police (ASP).
According to sources, the gunmen stormed the town on Friday night, shooting sporadically and causing widespread panic. It is reported that the gunmen also held residents at gunpoint and robbed them of their valuables.
It is alleged that this incident is one of many recent cases of kidnapping in the area, which has had a negative impact on the local economy. There is no information on the whereabouts of the abducted ASP.
Ismail Dabo, a member of the House of Representatives representing Toro Federal Constituency, has denounced the recent kidnapping of an assistant superintendent of police in the town of Toro, Bauchi State. Dabo described the incident as unfortunate and regretted the effect it would have on the local economy.
He reassured the people that the House of Representatives would continue to work towards addressing security issues in the area.
The Bauchi State Police Command could not be reached for comment, despite efforts to do so.
