In an effort to promote and preserve Yoruba language, the Lagos State University of Education (LASU) has incorporated Yoruba language into its General Nigeria Studies curriculum.

The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, announced the development on Sunday, noting that the move was in line with a law signed by the Lagos State government in 2018 to promote and preserve the language in tertiary institutions in the state.

This initiative will help ensure that Yoruba language is preserved and taught to students in the state's tertiary institutions.
